The Business of Injecting (Chapter 4) with Jessica Halliday and Maria Reid

With Jessica Halliday and Maria ReidHosts Dr Jake Sloane and David Segal

About this episode

In The Business of Injecting we host injectors and clinic owners to talk through the business side of their clinics: finances, tough decisions, friction points, staffing, hiring and firing.

Jessica Halliday worked as a midwife for many years before becoming a cosmetic injector and founding Eden Cosmetic Therapies in Hobart in 2017. Maria Reid spent over a decade in nurse management before injecting. Jessica first employed Maria as a contractor in a dual injecting and management role, and her input proved so valuable that in 2020 Jessica invited her to become an equal partner with a 50% share.

In Chapter 4 we explore the dynamics of business partnerships, covering dividing roles, boutique positioning, selling half a business and valuing the brand, due diligence and partnership agreements, Tasmania's clinic licensing rules, the costs of regulation, competition from chain clinics, measuring performance and product loyalty and margins.
