About this episode
In The Business of Injecting we host injectors and clinic owners to talk through the business side of their clinics: finances, tough decisions, friction points, staffing, hiring and firing.
Dr Felix Bertram is still a practising dermatologist, but he's best known as a globally renowned aesthetics entrepreneur. He's the mastermind behind Skinmed, a high-end destination with 12 plastic surgery theatres, resident dermatologists, a pathology lab, injectables and beauty services under one roof. Alongside it sit the Swiss Aesthetic Institute training centre (co-founded with Julie Horne), the Skinmed Doctors skincare range and Skins, a restaurant that won two Michelin stars after opening in October 2022.
In Chapter 6 we explore his early career, balancing medicine with entrepreneurship, what it takes to be an entrepreneur, the Inner Circle conference, the skills medical professionals need to be better at business, why he built a Michelin-starred restaurant, his process for creating a new business, how healthcare and technology may evolve, and how he came to own 13 dogs.
