About this episode

Episode 223 is a little different: instead of our usual one or two guests, we go big.

Dr Jake and David appeared at Aesthetics (A23), one of Australia's biggest conferences, convened by Sydney plastic surgeon Dr Steven Liew (a previous guest on Episodes 64, 126 and 192). The conference aims to disrupt the usual way of doing things and explore new ideas to improve safety and efficacy. Dr Jake and David were invited to record a live podcast with a panel of expert injectors in only 23 minutes, with a simple brief: make people think.

The panel of Dr Lee Walker, Dr Tapan Patel, Dr Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha, Dr Dalvi Humzah, Dr Zunaid Alli and Dr Beatriz Molina debates fillers and the idea of lift, what KOL really means, sterility in live injecting, the ethics of bulk buying, threads, whether fillers really differ, and who should be allowed to inject. Afterwards Dr Jake and David debrief on bias, echo chambers, multi-brand KOLs, rep pressure and stock control.
