About this episode
We revisit the bio-remodelling treatment Profhilo (listen to Episode 179 for the basic science and background). Launched in Australia in August 2022, it has been hugely successful, but as with every new product there is a learning curve for injectors.
Dr Ravi Jain is a cosmetic surgeon in Harpenden with over 20 years of experience. He consulted as a KOL for IBSA, the makers of Profhilo, for several years and sat on early advisory boards. Dr Sophie Shotter is a multi-award-winning cosmetic doctor in Kent and London, an Allergan Aesthetics KOL and global expert in HArmonyCa, who has treated thousands of patients with Profhilo since 2016.
We discuss early UK experience, what Profhilo actually does, patient selection, avoiding overpromising, where it fits alongside toxin and filler, comparisons with other biostimulators, treating the neck, adapting technique, maintenance and frequency, and the shift toward skin quality over volume.
